What we collect, and what we don’t.
Effective
This page covers this website and the web editor inside your device. It says what each one sends us, what we keep, and why.
This website
This site is hosted by Cloudflare. Every page you load passes through Cloudflare’s network.
Our typefaces are served by Adobe Fonts. When a page loads, your browser fetches them from Adobe.
We set no cookies. There is no analytics and no advertising on this site.
The notification list
If you join the list with the Notify me form, we keep three things:
- Your email address.
- The product page you signed up from, if any.
- The date and time you signed up.
We use it to tell you when our products are ready. It is stored in our own database with Cloudflare. No mailing-list company holds it.
We keep your address until you ask us to remove it. Write to us and we will. We never share or sell the list.
If you write to us, your message is kept in our Gmail account, with Google, indefinitely. We don’t share it.
The editor’s usage report
Your device serves its own web editor over USB. Each time the editor opens, it sends one anonymous report to us, if your computer, phone or tablet has an internet connection. Nothing is shown on screen. If the report fails, it is not sent again.
The report contains:
- The device’s firmware version, product (SKU) and hardware revision.
- Whether you opened the editor from the QR code on the device’s label.
- How you reached the editor: by IP address or by name.
- The device’s MIDI and global settings: MIDI channel, knob pickup, clock listen, CC transmit, TRS MIDI thru and upmix.
- Your browser, operating system and kind of computer, phone or tablet, read from the browser’s standard User-Agent header, and whether its screen is a touch screen.
- The device’s serial number, so we can count each device once.
We never store the serial number. When a report arrives, we turn the serial number into a one-way code using a secret key, and keep only the code. The code cannot be turned back into a serial number.
We don’t store your IP address. Cloudflare uses it to work out an approximate location: country, region, city and time zone. We store that location, with the date and time of the report.
The report uses no cookies, carries no advertising and does not track you across websites. We don’t sell the data or share it. It is stored with Cloudflare, our hosting provider, and kept indefinitely.
We use it only to understand how the device is used and to make it better.
You can’t turn the report off in the editor.
