No adhesive, no residue, no hook and loop.
Ten mounts. Holds firm. Repositionable as many times as the board changes.
01 · THE PROBLEM
Every board is temporary. The mounting shouldn’t act otherwise.
Hook and loop is a commitment. It sheds fuzz into every jack, it leaves a grey rectangle on the bottom of a pedal you want to sell, and it takes a heat gun and a scraper to undo. Tape is worse.
A board is rearranged more often than it is built. The pedal that lives on the shelf this month is in the signal path next month. Mounting should cost nothing to change your mind about.
02 · HOW IT WORKS
How it works.
A micro-suction pad: a dense field of cavities that grip a flat surface by air pressure alone. There is no glue in it and nothing on it to transfer. Press firmly to set, lift a corner to release.
Full grip in a second, with hand or foot pressure. No cure time, no waiting before the board can travel.
Peel from one corner and the seal breaks. The pedal comes away clean and so does the board.
Grip can diminish as dust fills the cavities. Warm water, no soap, air dry, and the pad is refreshed.
03 · WHERE IT HOLDS
Where it holds.
It needs a smooth, non-porous surface on both faces. That covers most boards and most pedals; the exceptions are worth knowing before you order.
Holds
- Anodised and painted aluminium
- Powder-coated metal
- Sealed woods and laminate
- Moulded and cast enclosures
- Plastic and smooth rubber
Does not hold
- Tolex, carpet, and hook-and-loop pile
- Raw or oiled wood
- Heavily textured powder coat
- Anything still carrying old adhesive
- Rough surfaces in general
CLEAN BOTH SURFACES WITH ISOPROPYL BEFORE THE FIRST SET.
04 · MADE TO BE FORGOTTEN
Made to be forgotten about.
A space-age urethane micro-suction closed-cell foam, die-cut with radiused corners so nothing catches when a pedal is lifted. Two millimeters thick, which is thin enough to keep a low-profile pedal from rocking but thick enough to contour to hammertones and light textured surfaces.
Rated to hold X pounds per mount on a vertical surface, and tested at temperatures from Fargo freezing to a hot van Vegas. Use one mount for standard sized pedal, two or more for larger devices.
